A Water Experience Worthy of the Zoo
The Nashville Zoo needed more than a water feature — they needed a landmark. A multi-element water environment that would stop visitors in their tracks, hold up to commercial use, and feel like it grew naturally from the Tennessee landscape. Waterscapes delivered a full ecosystem: boulder waterfalls, hidden grottos, sheer descent waterfalls, and naturalistic feature pools — all built from gunite and natural Tennessee stone by our own crews.

Features That Define This Build
How We Build at This Scale
Site Engineering & Excavation
We assess the full project scope, coordinate with the Zoo's GC team, and prepare the site with the precision a commercial build demands. Every cubic yard of excavation is planned before we break ground.
Gunite & Structural Shell
The structural foundation of every feature — pools, grottos, waterfall bases — is gunite. The same material we've used on 6,000+ residential builds, now engineered for commercial scale and constant use.
Natural Stone & Finishing
Tennessee fieldstone and sculpted gunite rock form the visual identity of the installation. Every boulder placement, every water cascade path, every grotto opening is designed for visual impact and structural permanence.
"Waterscapes delivered something we didn't think was possible on this scale. The craftsmanship is extraordinary — our visitors stop and stare every single day."
